Dr. Ellice Martin has been appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to serve on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD).Governor Deal performed the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, August 1, at the Capitol in Atlanta. Martin has represented Clinch County as a board member and board chair of Unison Behavioral Health (formerly Satilla Community Service Board) in Waycross, and has served as the State President of the Georgia Association of Community Service Boards. Frank Berry, Commissioner of the DBHDD, and Assistant Commissioner for Public Affairs Lavin Gartland were also present at the ceremony and welcomed Dr. Martin to the board.
Dr. Martin is a professor in the Middle, Secondary, Reading, and Deaf Education Department of the Dewar College of Education and Human Services. She teaches mathematics methods and graduate research courses.
