ACED faculty members Dr. Vesta Whisler and Dr. Diane Wright have been selected to present at the National Council for Local Administrators/Association for Career and Technical Education Best Practices and Innovations in Career and Technical Education Conference in San Diego, California, September 25-27, 2013. The selection panel considered many excellent proposals for presentations and ours was selected as one of the top 20 to be invited to present at the conference. This presentation will describe the “online bachelor completion” (OBC) programs of the Office Administration and Technology (OAT) Degree and the Bachelors of Applied Science in Human Capital Performance (HCP) Degree. These two degree OBC delivery models are designed to provide a pathway for completing a bachelors degree for non-traditional adults who may have completed some college education, achieved an applied associate degree in a technical field and/or have other professional credentials or training. These programs are part of VSU’s efforts to achieve the goals set Governor Nathan Deal’s “Complete College Georgia” initiative. Dr. Whisler is the Lead Professor for the OAT-OBC program and Dr. Wright is the Lead Professor for the HCP-OBC program.
The title of their presentation is: “Technical Degrees via Online Bachelor Completion Programs”.
Congratulations Dr. Whisler and Dr. Wright!
