ACED is proud to have sponsored Rebecca Rusk, a major in the Office Administration and Technology Online Bachelor Completion (OAT-OBC) program, at the Spring 2013 Symposium on Undergraduate Research! Ms. Rusk, a junior in the OAT-OBC program, is a non-traditional student from Cumming, Georgia. Ms. Rusk wrote a paper titled “Operating Systems for the Novice User” as a course requirement for ACED 3150 Computer Operating Systems for the Office. Her instructor was so impressed by her writing skills that she urged Ms. Rusk to submit her paper to the symposium at VSU, and her submission was accepted.
Regarding her studies in the OAT-OBC program, Ms. Rusk states: “Being a student in the OAT-OBC program of study is allowing me the opportunity to complete my degree and accomplish a life goal that I would not otherwise be able to realize. I have been active in the workforce for over 30 years, and traditional classes just are not conducive to my professional directive. The OAT-OBC program offers me the continuum of courses needed in my chosen career field, keeping me up-to-date amidst the ever-changing landscape of business and technology.”
