Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) is a new system developed by the GaDOE to support the continuous growth and development of teachers. TKES has multiple components – the Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS), Surveys of Instructional Practice, and measures of Student Growth and Academic Achievement. All schools and charter schools in the state of Georgia will be in full implementation of this evaluation system next year.
At the University level, an assessment system that aligns with the GaDOE Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) has been developed. The elements of this assessment system called TCKES (Teacher Candidate Keys Effectiveness System) are being pilot tested this spring semester by three departments – Early Childhood and Special Education (ECSE), Kinesiology and Physical Education (KSPE), AND Middle grades, Secondary, Reading and Deaf Education (MSRD)
