TECHNICAL RESPONSE UNIT – STUDENT TECHNICIAN (MAIN CAMPUS)

Technical Response Unit Student Technicians may be stationed at the IT Helpdesk or be deployed to provide rapid support to campus users requiring technical assistance. These positions are responsible for providing customer service, and technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of the university. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting clients, supporting the initiatives of the division and area supervisors, supporting various campus events. Student Technicians are responsible for providing preventative checks of on-campus technology including: class room and computer lab settings. Additionally, Technical Response Unit Student Technicians are responsible for providing residential wireless support for students living in on campus housing. The Technical Response Unit is focused on rapid technical support, and exceptional customer service. Shifts range from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM and may include weekends.

The IT Department will issue uniforms to employees at no cost. Issued uniforms must be worn at all times and must be returned in the event that employment is ended. This allows employees of the IT Department to be easily identified if a student, staff, or faculty member is in need of service, as well as allowing these employees access to otherwise restricted areas.

TRU MEDIA LAB – STUDENT ASSISTANT

These positions are responsible for providing training, customer service, and technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of the university. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting clients, supporting the initiatives of the division and area supervisors, leading or supporting training workshops and campus events, developing and maintaining content, and assisting with internal and external division communications. Shifts range from 7:45 AM to 11:00 PM and may include weekends.
These positions will primarily monitor computer use and equipment for all computer labs in the Mass Media building. These positions will also assist students with technology and software, etc., necessary for successful completion of assignments.
