Through the computer, I have control. Personal battles become visual in my work, and are conveyed to my audience in thoughts and images. Body Dysmorphia has been an uphill struggle, and growing with the condition I was ill informed and uncomfortable in how to express my emotions on mental health. I am able to share comfortably who I am and confront my reflection alongside the viewer by creating works that revolve around the discussion of body image, anxiety, and personal perception.
Creating digital works produces clean lines and precision. The soft palette reflects the delicate and personal feelings attached to each work I create, while an emphasis on text and intimate thoughts are the main focus of each piece.
I encourage the discussion of mental illness and body image in my work. The viewer will walk away with a better understanding of a delicate disorder and the girl who chose art because of it.
