I do not make work based on one subject only. I find myself questioning my own understanding most of the time. Using art history as a backdrop, I am exploring themes such as femininity, gender and self-identify. Impressionists such as Degas and Cassatt influence my Women in Bathtub series; the work of Claude Cahun and Robert Mapplethorpe guide my concepts of gender identity.

Using photography as my medium. I depict the intimate, private nature of the bath. Creating questions rather than answers allows the thematic nature of my work to play with gender and femininity. Instead of moving away from these concepts, I’m still continuing to explore, and research these questions of identity. Being a Belizean is another area of identity I am exploring with my most recent work. This new series of work deals with my memories, as well as Belizean practices that define our uniqueness.
