The “Cute and Creepy” exhibition at the Dedo Maranville Gallery was a thrilling show that one would not easily forget. The exhibition was curated by Carrie Ann Baade, and features the work of 7 artists, and the media used ranged from paintings to sculptures. This past October, I had the pleasure of going to the Valdosta State University Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery to attend the “Cute and Creepy” art exhibition located in Valdosta, Georgia. The solar eclipse was not the only spectacle that happened on August 21, 2017. Valdosta State University kicked off the semester with its first opening of the academic year in the Dedo Maranville gallery by showcasing the faculty’s artwork. This incredible exhibition is an amazing starting point for the semester, as it allows the students and visitors of VSU to view the personal works that the art and design professors have spent time creating and researching.
