She has appeared <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall for solo and chamber performances. She has formed <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">piano duo with pianist Lawrence Quinnett and given performances of wide range of duet\/duo <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">repertoire, including Three Pieces for Two Pianos by Ligeti. Former member of New Music <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Ensemble at FSU, Yoo has performed works by several award-winning living composers, such <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">as Kaija Saariaho and Sebastian Currier.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Yoo has great interest in using music to reach the community. This interest has led her to <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">opportunities to give concerts such as Benefit Concert for World Transformation Information <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Technology in South Korea, where the profits were used to provide computers and cellular <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">phones and education for technology to the people in underdeveloped countries.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">As a devoted educator, Yoo teaches both piano and music theory in college. She regularly gives <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">masterclasses to students through teacher organizations and has worked with students of all <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">ages. Yoo has keen interest in teaching piano technique, specifically on using body effectively <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">for maximum result. This interest in part comes from her many years of extensive study with <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Brazilian\/American pianist and pedagogue Daisy de luca Jaff\u00e9, who developed Relaxation <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Technique after studying with Magda Tagliaferro, a protege of the legendary teacher Alfred <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Cortot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">Born in Seoul, Yoo started learning the piano at four. After moving to the US, she released her <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">first album of her arrangements and composition for piano when she was sixteen years old. Yoo <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Pensacola Christian College <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">under the tutelage of Daisy de luca Jaff\u00e9, and her Doctor of Music degree from Florida State <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">University, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Read Gainsford.
