Would \u201cAvatar\u201d make for a good movie musical?  Are Bill and Ted in their \u201cExcellent Adventure\u201d the best movie \u201cbromance?\u201d  For answers, you\u2019d have had to attend the Mass Media Film and Video Society\u2019s \u201cReel Wars\u201d contest on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in which members and guests debated movie-themed issues for almost 90 minutes.  The event, moderated by FVS President Jonathan Bice, featured 4 participants, an audience of 25, and was won by Joseph Dame, who received a free FVS Tee shirt, and candy.<br \/>\n\tThis year\u2019s \u201cReel Wars\u201d had a different format than past debates, and featured solo contestants rather than teams.  There were 4 questions, 4 contestants, 3 judges, 1 Tie-Breaker question, and 2 minutes of Opening Remarks.   The questions were:  1. What film character would make for the best roommate?  2. Pick a Wal-Mart Bargain Bin movie (from a list) and argue why it\u2019s the best (of the bad bunch).   3. Which film detective would make the best partner?  4.  Which film could be best adapted into a musical?  And (Bonus Question) 5. What is the Best Movie \u201cBromance?\u201d<br \/>\nThe other contestants included Michael Perona, James McCanney, and past FVS President Nathan Ragland.   The debate was judged by FVS Officers Levi Johnson, Evan Creamer, and Maxwell Steele.<br \/>\nThe Film and Video Society meets every first and third Wednesdays of the month, at 7 p.m. in the Mass Media Building.   The next meeting, on October 18, will feature a guest speaker by Skype from Los Angeles, Ligiah Villalobos.  She is best known for her work as head writer for the Nick Jr. show, &#8220;Go, Diego!
