{"id":78,"date":"2014-12-02T12:00:09","date_gmt":"2014-12-02T12:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/comarts\/?p=78"},"modified":"2014-12-09T21:45:22","modified_gmt":"2014-12-09T21:45:22","slug":"guest-speaker-inspires-sscs-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/comarts\/2014\/12\/02\/guest-speaker-inspires-sscs-members\/","title":{"rendered":"Guest Speaker Inspires SSCS Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Carlie Lingefelt<\/p>\n<p>Matt McMurray strives to inspire, be inspired and live passionately through the work of helping others.<\/p>\n<p>The house supervisor at Lowndes Associated Ministries to People in Valdosta spoke to the Student Society of Communication Scholars in October.<\/p>\n<p>LAMP\u2019s mission is to provide for the basic needs of the homeless and hurting members of Lowndes County and the surrounding areas, McMurray said. \u201cAll persons are created in the image of God and all of God\u2019s children have the same need for food, clothing, shelter and love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really enjoyed listening to Matt, said Allison Sanderson, president of SSCS, who was moved by Matt\u2019s passion for his work and life in general. \u201cYou can tell he is passionate about what he does and genuinely cares about the people he meets.
