Public Health Awareness Day was held on June 27th of this year hosted by South Health District along with the Georgia Department of Public Health at the Lowndes County Civic Center. There were many activities offered for everyone, even the entire family such as free health screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and many others includes friendly activities such as face painting and games for kids.
The purpose of the event was to educate the community about Public Health Programs and Services, as well as other healthcare related organizations in the Lowndes County Community. And thus, Assistant Professor of Nursing, Ms. Laura Carter took several Senior Nursing students to assist in the event as well and provide genuine health education and service to the community.
