A panel discussion is a valuable method of instruction which can be employed to make education interesting, interactive, and effective. The objectives of Striving to Thriving: The J1 Experience were twofold: To encourage social learning and to facilitate higher cognitive and affective learning strategies. Panelists included program graduate Ms. Jangloria Diggs, RN; Ms. Lorrie Wicks, Senior 2; Mr. Aaron Goodwin, Senior 2; Ms. Chasaney Johnson, Senior 1; and Mr. Tyler Hunter, Junior 2. Panelists not only shared challenges faced during their first semester of nursing school, but how they overcame those challenges, study tips, and test-taking strategies.
