The \u00a0\u00a0 book highlights major changes in both fields, gives examples of grant writing\u00a0 \u00a0strategies, and includes an enhanced focus on online methods for organizing grant \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 submissions.<\/p>\n<p>Hall, Mary, PhD, Howlett, Susan. New York: Basic Books.<\/p>\n<p>This book helps new grant writers to overcome the anxiety associated with writing\u00a0 \u00a0grants as well as strategies that can help the seasoned grant writer stand out for a\u00a0 \u00a0competitive grant. The book is strategically laid out in three parts: (1) preparation, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (2) proposal writing and (3) follow up broken up in 17 different lessons, which could be taught as a class or workshop.<\/p>\n<p>PND. Illinois:Sourcebooks, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>This book is more of a reference guide which highlights writing strategies for\u00a0 government grants, foundation grants, and foundation grants. The book stresses\u00a0 \u00a0not only the strategies of writing a winning proposal, but also where to key to how \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to find grants that best fit your agency.<\/p>\n<p>Why academics have a hard time writing good grant proposals. I first became acquainted with an earlier edition in 1999. I am relying on this book heavily for this presentation.\u00a0 Excellent chapters on Stress &amp; Time Management, using micro skills in macro settings, advocacy and social action, using supervision, and developing and managing agency resources. Search \u201cGrant writing\u201d\u00a0 There are a s**t ton of youtubes on grant writing. Most of them speak from experience and have some good points.
