Untamed Enchantment

Earthy
Grounded
A little wild

Untamed
Natural
I am beguiled

The magic is strong here
The forest nymphs are near

Glimpses of fairies
The soft wind carries

Woody
Growing
So very alive

Somehow
Here
Magic can survive

Darkness and light
Mingle together

Black and white
And both on a feather

It flutters down
Into my hand

I catch sight
Of silver sand

And sapphire waves
Encrusted with gold

This magic is too
Priceless to be sold

Tiny Wilderness

Surrounded by cement
And roaring cars
The air is filled with
Shouts from tiny people-wars

But it fades as I sit
And bask in the quiet
The trees around
Shielding me from it

I sit awhile,
And quietly read
And the birds come out
To peck at the seed

They’ve forgotten I’m here
Or so it seems
Unless they’ve decided
We’re on the same teams

They peck at pinecones
Looking for food
They’re always in
A flighty mood

They call to each other
From the trees
And the waving branches
Seem to tease

This oasis is a tiny wild
In this world of conformity
I never know what I’ll find next
And it never ceases to amaze me

The grass, the trees
The birds and sun
They’ll all remain
When the day is done

The cars will be gone
But the wild will stay
I’m glad there’s a little wild Left today
