I Want to Change
The energy inside coils, uncoils—
a snake poised to strike,
slithering through a shifting sea
of pleasure and pain.
Giving, taking.
Pushing, pulling.
Wrestling with the tide.
If only I could go back—
Warn myself, rewrite the ending.
I’d whisper, it was us,
we needed to change.
But no matter how I try not to I fight,
triggered from something mundane,
control slips through my grasp.
One misstep—my mask cracks,
venom spills from my tongue.
I hurt someone.
Again.
And again.
