Systems Services Assistant

Position will be responsible for working with and manipulating data from various systems for the University. These systems may include databases, LDAP directories, and various ERP portals. In addition, this position will work as a liaison between various departments to define business workflow processes and procedures and collaborating technical information in the form of SQL queries, flowcharts, and process diagrams to the Enterprise Applications team for core program development. Performing system administration of Windows servers and SQL databases will be part of this position’s routine duties. The position will assist in participating in disaster recovery planning in the form of routine backup and restore operations.

IT TSS Student Technician

Stationed in Pine Hall, this position is assigned to sub-departments within TSS including Desktop Support, Classroom Support, and Inventory/Asset Management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting faculty, staff, and students with campus technology both on-site and over the phone, maintaining VSU-owned IT equipment, troubleshooting and repairing campus technology, and maintaining and distributing campus technologies. Shifts range from 8:00AM to 9:00PM. All applicants will be required to complete a brief, hands-on technical evaluation.

TRU Media Lab – Student Assistant

These positions are responsible for providing training, customer service, and technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of the university. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting clients, supporting the initiatives of the division and area supervisors, leading or supporting training workshops and campus events, developing and maintaining content, and assisting with internal and external division communications. Shifts range from 7:45 AM to 11:00 PM and may include weekends.

These positions will primarily monitor computer use and equipment for all computer labs in the Mass Media building. These positions will also assist students with technology and software, etc., necessary for successful completion of assignments.
