The bug allows a caller to eavesdrop on conversations even if the recipient does not answer the call. In addition, if the recipient uses the volume or power button to reject the call, the front-facing camera on the Apple device will also be activated, allowing video feed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt\">Apple announced that they have turned off Group FaceTime capabilities and will be offering a software update to patch the bug later this week. You can check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/systemstatus\/\">Apple\u2019s System Status Page<\/a> to stay abreast. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt\">Valdosta State University Information Security recommends that faculty, staff, and students who use Apple devices turn off FaceTime until the bug has been fixed.
