Basically, Open Access is a new\u00c2\u00a0way of publishing\u00c2\u00a0that makes scholarly information available to everyone.\u00c2\u00a0 While it isn’t always free to publish this information, the charge isn’t put on the reader, therefore empowering everyone with access to great\u00c2\u00a0information.<\/p>\n

Here are a few great examples of Open Access in action!<\/p>\n

Directory of Open Access Journals <\/a>: This is a huge database of open-access journals from around the world.\u00c2\u00a0 In order to be included, these journals need to be edited or peer-reviewed.<\/p>\n

ArXiv<\/a> : ArXiv is a place to find the newest open-access\u00c2\u00a0papers in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Biology, Quantitative Finance and Statistics.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Public Library of Science<\/a> : Public Library of Science is an open-access publisher of seven peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals.<\/p>\n
