{"id":1863,"date":"2010-12-03T12:43:53","date_gmt":"2010-12-03T17:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.valdosta.edu\/library\/blog\/?p=1863"},"modified":"2010-12-03T12:43:53","modified_gmt":"2010-12-03T17:43:53","slug":"reference-survey-results-fall-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/library\/2010\/12\/03\/reference-survey-results-fall-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Reference Survey Results &#8211; Fall 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past month, we have been collecting and analyzing data from our Fall 2010 Reference Services Satisfaction Survey.<\/p>\n<p>We have changed the survey a bit, because the statement &#8220;I have a better understanding of how to evaluate information&#8221; did not apply to every question.  Patrons and librarians alike were confused as to how to rate this statement when evaluation wasn&#8217;t necessary for the reference question.<\/p>\n<p>The three statements on this survey are the same ones we asked in previous Reference Services Satisfaction Surveys, and Reference Services users rated us on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being &#8220;strongly disagree&#8221;, 5 being &#8220;strongly agree&#8221;).<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I got the information I needed.<\/li>\n<li>I have a better understanding of how to find information.<\/li>\n<li>I am satisfied with the service I received.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The survey results showed that users were very satisfied with their Reference experience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/12\/Chart1F20102.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/12\/Chart1F20102.png\" alt=\"Chart of User Satisfaction Fall 2010\" title=\"Chart1F2010\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1866\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>User comments were very positive overall, and included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Great and fast help.<\/li>\n<li>You guys are the best!<\/li>\n<li>Great job (smiley face)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Out of 47 users, 39 were undergraduate students, 7 were graduate, and one was &#8220;other.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We also evaluated ourselves on our interactions at the Reference Desk:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/12\/Chart2F2010.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.valdosta.edu\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/12\/Chart2F2010.png\" alt=\"Provider Satisfaction Chart Fall 2010\" title=\"Chart2F2010\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1867\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The data shows that we are mostly satisfied with how we help you overall (statement 3), but we would like to help you learn <strong>how<\/strong> to find information better in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Out of 47 responses, 41 were from librarians, 4 were from Peer Reference Counselors, and 2 were from our intern.<\/p>\n<p>We are always looking for new ways to improve our service here at Odum Reference, and we&#8217;re also looking into improving how we evaluate our service.
