Sponsored collaboratively\u00a0by the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Archives and Records Administration, \u00a0and other federal government agencies, this site collects information about\u00a0exhibits, event calendars, educational resources, and more.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, the Library of Congress is hosting through September 12, 2015 the\u00a0exhibit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/exhibits\/civil-rights-act\/index.html\">The Civil Rights Act of 1964: A Long Struggle for Freedom<\/a>. The online exhibit features timelines, multimedia presentations, and learning materials for the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the National Park Service&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/history\/aahistory\/\">cultural resources on African American Heritage page<\/a> lists sites, exhibits, lesson plans, and more\u00a0available year-round. The National Gallery of Art features <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nga.gov\/content\/ngaweb\/features\/slideshows\/african-american-artists-collection-highlights.html?from=home-page\">highlights from its collection of works by African American Artists<\/a>. \u00a0Visit the National Endowment for the Humanities&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/edsitement.neh.gov\/feature\/documenting-african-american-history\">Documenting African American History<\/a>\u00a0site for\u00a0lessons and exhibits on topics such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/edsitement.neh.gov\/lesson-plan\/emancipation-proclamation-freedoms-first-steps\">Emancipation Proclamation<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/edsitement.neh.gov\/lesson-plan\/african-american-soldiers-world-war-i-92nd-and-93rd-divisions\">African American soldiers in World War I<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/edsitement.neh.gov\/curriculum-unit\/courage-freedom-frederick-douglasss-1845-autobiography\">Frederick Douglass&#8217;s 1845 autobiography<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/edsitement.neh.gov\/lesson-plan\/spirituals\">spirituals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Geographically closer to home, the <a href=\"http:\/\/crdl.usg.edu\/?Welcome\">Civil Rights Digital Library<\/a>, an initiative of the Digital Library of Georgia and GALILEO, provides a digital video archive, a civil rights portal, and a collection of secondary resource links to online educational content.
