The National Gallery of Art features highlights from its collection of works by African American Artists<\/a>. \u00a0Visit the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Documenting African American History<\/a>\u00a0site for\u00a0lessons and exhibits on topics such as the Emancipation Proclamation<\/a>, African American soldiers in World War I<\/a>, Frederick Douglass’s 1845 autobiography<\/a>, and spirituals<\/a>.<\/p>\n
