Test your knowledge of women&#8217;s history with these <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwhp.org\/resources\/quizzes\/\">quizzes<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwhp.org\/\">National Women&#8217;s History Project<\/a>, which\u00a0presents the 2016 theme:<em>\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwhp.org\/womens-history-month\/2016-theme\/\">Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service and Government.<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In recognition of Women\u2019s History Month, the government,\u00a0libraries, archives, and other nonprofit organizations can help us learn about women\u2019s contributions to science, civil rights, culture and the arts, exploration, education, and government. Read President Obama&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2016\/02\/29\/presidential-proclamation-womens-history-month-2016\">2016 Presidential Proclamation of Women&#8217;s History Month<\/a>, and view the official government site for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/womenshistorymonth.gov\/index.html\">Women&#8217;s History Month<\/a>\u00a0to see a variety of online exhibits and sites about women in history. The<\/p>\n<p>Learn\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.gov\/exhibits\/featured_documents\/amendment_19\/\">history of the 19th Amendment<\/a>, enacting the right of women to vote in the U.S., courtesy of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.gov\/index.html\">National Archives and Records Administration<\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/law\/\">Law Library of Congress<\/a> also offers a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/law\/help\/commemorative-observations\/women_history.php\">timeline of the legislative history of Women\u2019s History Month<\/a> in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.valdosta.edu\/\">Valdosta State University<\/a>, which began as a college for women, offers local documentation of more than a century of the history of women in south Georgia.\u00a0Many images and documents of the history of women at Valdosta State University are available at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.valdosta.edu\/library\/find\/arch\/index.shtml\">Valdosta State University Archives and Special Collections<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, be sure to visit\u00a0the Odum Library government documents\u00a0exhibit on this year&#8217;s theme, Honoring Women in Public Service and Government, on display in the Reference area, second floor, south side of Odum Library.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March is Women&#8217;s History Month.
