On April 17, 2009 approximately 150 Pre-K students from three local schools visited Odum Library for Read Fest 2009, held in honor of National Library Week. Our goal is to promote a life-long love of reading through a variety of fun reading-related activities.<\/p>\n

We had read-a-louds<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Some read-a-louds include dancing<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We had two puppet shows, with ice cream (yum!)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Students could get their faces painted<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

with great results<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

or scary results (spiders are the scariest!)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

snakes are scary too!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

or not on their faces after all<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Students could color<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

or make bookmarks<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Students had fun hula hooping<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

so did librarians<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Students could spin the Chick-fil-A Wheel to win a prize<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

There was jump roping too.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Eventually the students had to go back to school.<\/p>\n
