Freelancers take all forms, and a recent report by LinkedIn and Intuit suggests that there are 5 types of freelancer \u201cpersonas\u201d \u2013each with their own drivers and desires.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Side Giggers: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">see freelancing as a means to make extra cash, and are the most driven by money, compared to the other personas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Substituters: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in the freelance game for temporary work, and don\u2019t see this type of work as a long term thing. They\u2019re least satisfied with gig work, which is\u00a0often the result of recent job loss.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Business Builders:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are focused on building their own business, and pursue freelancing to either supplement or support those efforts. They love the fact that they can be their own boss, and are not the biggest fans of working under someone else.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Career Freelancers:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> pursue gigs to develop their skills to help them in their careers. The majority of these are millennials and are the most satisfied with freelancing compared to other personas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Passionistas:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> value the joy that their work brings them.
