Well, everyone knows Robert Patrick<\/a> played the T-1000 in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day<\/a>.” What this new Hollywood Reporter<\/a> interview presupposes…maybe he almost didn’t? The actor reveals that he wasn\u2019t exactly the first choice to play the menacing, nigh-unstoppable cyborg in the 1991 sci-fi\/action masterpiece, and in fact a rather different performer was: \u201cBilly Idol<\/a> was set to do the role of the T-1000, as I understand,\u201d Patrick says.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you that I saw Billy\u2019s image when I went to Stan Winston after I got the role. Unfortunately, he got into a motorcycle accident and busted up his leg, so he wasn\u2019t able to physically do what the role demanded.\u201d That\u2019s quite the \u201cwhat if?\u201d scenario, but few would complain about how things turned out \u2014 Patrick\u2019s icy performance is part of what makes \u201cT2\u201d the classic it is.<\/span><\/p>\n
