We love to highlight films that present new ways to inspire through innovation and passion, and this selection offers a great example of those voices that excite us.<\/p>\n<p>Check out more great short films from past editions of SXSW on our <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/sxswfilmfestival\/channels\">SXSW Film Festival Vimeo Channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>2017 SXSW Documentary Short Film Selections<\/h3>\n<p><em>Gut Hack<\/em> directed by <strong>Kate McLean<\/strong> and <strong>Mario Furloni<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>A former NASA scientist turned bio-hacker attempts an experiment that makes him confront the multitudes inside.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Moderators<\/em> directed by <strong>Ciaran Cassidy<\/strong> and <strong>Adrian Chen<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>A group of new employees at a consultancy in India are trained in their responsibilities as the moderating backbone of the Internet.<\/p>\n<p><em>Perfectly Normal<\/em> directed by <strong>Joris Debeij<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>A high-functioning autistic man balancing reality with his imaginary world, proves that one can make deliberate choices to find stability and to be more present in life.<\/p>\n<p><em>Raised by Krump<\/em> directed by <strong>Maceo Frost<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><em>Raised by Krump<\/em> is a 22-minute documentary film that explores the Compton\/South Central, Los Angeles-born dance movement called \u201cKrumping,\u201d and the lives and emotional issues of some of the area\u2019s most influential and prolific dancers.<\/p>\n<p><em>Refuge<\/em> directed by <strong>Matthew K. Firpo<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><em>Refuge<\/em> is a multimedia project chronicling human stories from the European Refugee Crisis, focused on humanity and hope.
