This week, we are highlighting a selection of featured Scandinavian artists. Pro tip: add your favorites to your <a href=\"\/schedule\"><strong>SXSW 2018 Schedule<\/strong><\/a> to stay updated on when and where they will perform in March.<\/p>\n<h3>Scandinavian Artists Spotlight<\/h3>\n<p>Hailing from Denmark, <a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxsw.com\/2018\/artists\/17814\"><strong>The Foreign Resort<\/strong><\/a> bring the vibe and chord changes of post-punk to the driving groove of a dance record. <a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxsw.com\/2018\/artists\/17673\"><strong>The Magnettes<\/strong><\/a> create edgy pop music that reflects their  thinking that &#8220;ugly and weird is cool and that the patriarchy needs to be crushed.&#8221;  Thurston Moore has described Sweden&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxsw.com\/2018\/artists\/20045\"><strong>Rome Is Not A Town<\/strong><\/a> (above) by saying \u201dIt\u2019s sorta post-Riot grrrl, post-No Wave, experimental music and completely engaging from beginning to end.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxsw.com\/2018\/artists\/19739\"><strong>Hajk<\/strong><\/a> uses dance rhythms to anchor ethereal melodies in their indie pop songs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Hater-Photo-by-Ludwig-Hedlund-640x360.jpeg\" alt=\"2018 Showcasing Artist Hater\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-35918\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Formed in Malm\u00f6, <a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxsw.com\/2018\/artists\/18342\"><strong>Hater<\/strong><\/a> (pictured) creates delicate pop that manages to be simultaneously uplifting and melancholic.
