In Democratizing AI for Individuals & Organizations<\/strong> at SXSW 2018, Partner at Foundation Capital Joanne Chen<\/strong> moderates a thoughtful conversation with Director of Stanford\u2019s Artificial Intelligence Lab and Chief Scientist of AI\/ML at Google Cloud Dr. Fei-Fei Li<\/strong> and CEO of Shift7 and former VP at Google Megan Smith<\/strong>, centered around shepherding the next phase of development in AI technology by focusing on inclusionary practices.<\/p>\n

“As an educator, I focus a lot on how we diversify tomorrow\u2019s AI technologists, and that is a critical part democratization for me.” – Dr. Fei-Fei Li<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The conversation focuses on the idea that if we as a community are able to break down barriers to entry for communities of potential creators of AI, the technologies that we create will be more inclusive<\/strong>. The speakers discuss education programs for underrepresented social groups and ways of debugging machine-learned biases from AI, as well as a myriad of other issues relating to realizing the full potential of AI in the future<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
