We are only a little over a month away from the <strong>SXSW Film Early Submission Deadline on August 23<\/strong>. Before you submit your feature film to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/festivals\/film\/\">SXSW Film Festival<\/a>, be sure to take a look at our guidelines below to ensure your film is eligible for SXSW and check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/apply-to-participate\/film-submissions\/\">Film Submissions<\/a> page for deadlines and fees.<\/p>\n<h3>Feature Film Submission Guidelines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Your film must be <strong>over 40 minutes<\/strong> in length.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If your feature film <strong>HAS NOT<\/strong> screened in Austin, Texas, and has <strong>NEVER<\/strong> been available online or broadcast you are eligible to submit to SXSW. For more information about premiere status and eligibility click <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sxsw.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/206421265-FEATURES-What-is-the-SXSW-premiere-eligibility-policy-for-feature-films-\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Your project must have been completed in <strong>2017<\/strong>, <strong>2018<\/strong> or be on track for completion in <strong>early 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>SXSW <strong>does not<\/strong> accept trailers or rough assemblies, but will accept <strong>work-in-progress cuts<\/strong> (picture lock with temp sound, color, etc.) Please be aware SXSW will not screen multiple updates\/versions of your film for programming consideration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Please submit your application when you are ready to send your film in the most complete and finished form possible, as we will <strong>only watch the first cut submitted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All feature-length films must be submitted via a secure URL link. Please note, <strong>if you change this link or any of your login information prior to March 2019<\/strong> without contacting SXSW your film may become ineligible for consideration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The 2018 SXSW Film Festival marked the <strong>25th edition<\/strong> of the festival, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/tag\/sxsw-film-25\/\">here<\/a> to get inspired and read stories from our film alumni!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For specific questions about submitting your film, look no further than our <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sxsw.com\/hc\/en-us\/sections\/201312865-Film-Submissions\">Film Submissions FAQ<\/a>. Still have questions? Don\u2019t hesitate to email <a href=\"mailto:filmfest@sxsw.com\">filmfest@sxsw.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Once you have submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from SXSW within <strong>48 hours<\/strong>. This email will confirm that your film has been submitted correctly.
