The projects presented at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/exhibitions\/virtual-cinema\/\"><strong>Virtual Cinema<\/strong><\/a> emphasize storytelling, ingenuity and also showcase how other industries are embracing this new medium.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>SXSW Film Early Submission Deadline is on August 23<\/strong>. Before you submit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/festivals\/film\/\">SXSW Film Festival<\/a>, be sure to take a look at our guidelines below to ensure your Virtual Cinema project is eligible for SXSW and check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/apply-to-participate\/film-submissions\/\">Film Submissions<\/a> page for deadlines and fees.<\/p>\n<h3>Virtual Cinema Submission Guidelines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>SXSW requires that all VR\/MR\/AR projects submit a link to a <strong>360 version of your project, or a 2D playthrough, at the time of submission<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>You may also include a link to a downloadable build of your project.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If you change your submission&#8217;s link or any of your login information <strong>prior to March 2019 without contacting SXSW, your project may become ineligible for consideration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If your project <strong>HAS NOT<\/strong> screened in Austin, Texas you are eligible to submit to SXSW. For more information about premiere status and eligibility click <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sxsw.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/115003122826-VIRTUAL-CINEMA-What-is-the-SXSW-premiere-and-eligibility-for-virtual-reality-projects-or-360-video-\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Your project must have been completed in <strong>2017<\/strong>, <strong>2018<\/strong> or be on track for completion in <strong>early 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For specific questions about submitting to Virtual Cinema, look no further than our <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sxsw.com\/hc\/en-us\/sections\/201312865-Film-Submissions\">Film Submissions FAQ<\/a>. Still have questions? Don\u2019t hesitate to email <a href=\"mailto:filmfest@sxsw.com\">filmfest@sxsw.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Once you have submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from SXSW within <strong>48 hours<\/strong>. This email will confirm that your film has been submitted correctly. If you do not receive this email within 48 hours, you should follow up by email (<a href=\"mailto:filmfest@sxsw.com\">filmfest@sxsw.com<\/a>) to ensure your film has been submitted properly and is under consideration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All applicants will be <strong>informed of the status<\/strong> of their project no later than Friday, February 8, 2019.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cart.sxsw.com\/products\/filmapp-vr\" class=\"button\">Submit Your Virtual Cinema Project<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Join Us in March 2019<\/h3>\n<p>We are  open for business! <a href=\"\/attend\">Registration<\/a> and <a href=\"\/hotels\">housing<\/a> are now available for SXSW 2019. A <a href=\"https:\/\/cart.sxsw.com\/products\/reg-film\">Film Badge<\/a> gets you primary access to all SXSW Film events including <strong>world premieres<\/strong>, <strong>roundtables<\/strong>, <strong>workshops<\/strong>, and <strong>parties<\/strong>.
