Before you submit, be sure to take a look at our guidelines below to ensure your music video is eligible for SXSW and check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/apply-to-participate\/film-submissions\/\">Film Submissions<\/a> page for deadlines and fees.<\/p>\n<h3>Music Video Submission Guidelines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>SXSW does not place any restrictions<\/strong> on the premiere status of music videos. The vast majority of music videos screened at SXSW will have premiered online prior to the festival.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that only <strong>OFFICIAL ARTIST APPROVED<\/strong> music videos are eligible for SXSW.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The music video should be the official music video for that song by that artist. As in, <strong>the artist and\/or label commissioned the video and has their approval to be made<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Your music video must have been completed in <strong>2017<\/strong>, <strong>2018<\/strong> or be on track for completion in <strong>early 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>SXSW <strong>does not<\/strong> accept trailers or rough assemblies, but will accept <strong>work-in-progress cuts<\/strong> (picture lock with temp sound, color, etc.) Please be aware SXSW will not screen multiple updates\/versions of your music video for programming consideration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All music videos must be submitted via a secure URL link. Please note, <strong>if you change this link or any of your login information prior to March 2019<\/strong> without contacting SXSW your submission may become ineligible for consideration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For specific questions about submitting your music video, look no further than our <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sxsw.com\/hc\/en-us\/sections\/201312865-Film-Submissions\">Film Submissions FAQ<\/a>. Still have questions? Don\u2019t hesitate to email <a href=\"mailto:filmfest@sxsw.com\">filmfest@sxsw.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Once you have submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from SXSW within <strong>48 hours<\/strong>. This email will confirm that your music video has been submitted correctly. If you do not receive this email within 48 hours, you should follow up by email (<a href=\"mailto:filmfest@sxsw.com\">filmfest@sxsw.com<\/a>) to ensure your project has been submitted properly and is under consideration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All applicants will be <strong>informed of the status<\/strong> of their project no later than Friday, February 8, 2019.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cart.sxsw.com\/products\/musicvideoapp\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button\">Submit Your Music Video<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Join Us in March 2019<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"\/attend\">Registration<\/a> and <a href=\"\/hotels\">housing<\/a> are now open for SXSW 2019. A <a href=\"https:\/\/cart.sxsw.com\/products\/reg-film\">Film Badge<\/a> gets you primary access to all SXSW Film events including <strong>world premieres<\/strong>, <strong>roundtables<\/strong>, <strong>workshops<\/strong>, and <strong>parties<\/strong>.
