I have been researching my family genealogy since 1995. I began with the help of my great-grandmother, Mrs. Lerlean H. Black, who provided me with names, dates and pictures of some ancestors. I am most grateful to her for this information. During the past 29 years, I have worked very actively on my research and have visited numerous cemeteries, courthouses, and libraries. Besides Georgia, my family interests span into Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Missouri, Massachusetts, England, and Scotland where I have visited. This site is dedicated to the current family of M. M. Black with hopes they will explore their family history and genealogy.

Patriots

War of 1812, Confederate, Indians Wars, Cherokee War, Revolutionary patriots, tavern keepers, postmasters, and Mayflower passengers

Cemetery Records

To make more of my research available online, I have uploaded tombstone photographs to www.findagrave.com If you click here http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSmpid=22012499& you can retrieve a listing of all photos I have submitted that are related to my principal family groups of Black, Dale, Hix, Lane, Norris, Perry, and Yelland.

Michael’s Cemetery Surveys

Black Cemetery-Oglethorpe County, GA
Black Cemetery-Madison County, GA
Hix Cemetery-Madison County, GA

Surname Report

Surname report of all 22,891 individuals in my family file (Dec. 3, 2025).

Descendant Reports

The following are descendant reports for several of my direct ancestors, grouped by surname. There is overlap between some generations and surnames; reports do not include living generations.
