Grant Funding Forecast – What’s Left in 2017

We are just over half way through FY 2017.  From a grant funding perspective, it may seem too late to look for external funding.  This is not the case.  There are many grants still available under the current funding cycle.  It may be beneficial to take a look at what is currently being funding.

We know that all current Federal grant opportunities can be found on Grants.gov.  However, many funding agencies also publish funding forecasts.  One agency that does this is the U.S. Department of Education.  You can access their funding opportunities by going to the Forecast of Funding Opportunities under the Department of Education Discretionary Grant Programs for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017.

This document lists virtually all programs and competitions under which the Department has invited or expects to invite applications for new awards and provides actual or estimated deadline dates for the transmittal of applications under these programs. The lists are in the form of charts — organized according to the Department’s principal program offices — and include programs and competitions we have previously announced, as well as those we plan to announce at a later date.

The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Administration has access to other resources that you may find beneficial.  However, none of these resources provide exact matches every time we search.  Searching for external funding opportunities requires regular activity, and we are willing to do that for you.  Give us a call or go online here and complete our grants contact form.
