Free online training for federal grant managers has now been made available to the general public through the U.S. Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Council. Originally developed by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as a tool for government employees, these five modules offer grants training for anyone (including sponsored and research programs administrators) in the following subject areas: Laws, Regulations, and Guidance; Financial Assistance Mechanisms; Uniform Guidance Administrative Requirements; Cost Principles; and Risk Management and Single Audit.
The CFO Council is a professional body set up to foster best practices and cooperation between federally-employed CFOs and senior officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and OMB. Flash is required to run the modules, and Google Chrome or Internet Explorer is recommended. The training modules are available at this link.
