Southern Documentary Fund Invites Applications for 2018 Projects

A funding opportunity for an individual interested in projects made in or about the American South.

The Southern Documentary Fund is a nonprofit arts organization that cultivates documentary projects made in or about the American South. Since its founding in 2002, SDF has sponsored over a hundred and fifty projects that have screened all over the world, won critical acclaim and prestigious awards, and inspired audiences with authentic stories that matter.

In 2018, the organization is accepting applications for its SDF Research and Development Grant and SDF Production Grant.

1) SDF Research and Development Grant: Grants of $5,000 will be awarded to selected applicants residing in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia.

2) SDF Production Grant: Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to support production-ready projects for selected applicants residing in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia.
