Grants Resource Center, by Wellons, Richard
Wheels are in motion for a possible new competition of the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) Comprehensive Centers program, which supports regional and national centers that provide technical assistance and capacity building services to state, regional, and local educational agencies in order to improve educator and student outcomes. A recent notice in the Federal Register invites comments on proposed priorities, requirements and performance measures for the program. This includes two proposed absolute priorities. The first of these priorities indicates the 19 regions that would be eligible for a regional center while the second outlines characteristics of a national center that would provide support and direction for the regional centers. More information is available in the Federal Register notice.
