​The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation has awarded fellowship grants to 168 scholars, artists, and writers in working in diverse fields of the arts, sciences, and humanities. The fellowships are intended to further the development of scholars and artists who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts. This was the 95^th competition for the program, which generally receives about 3,000 applications per year and awards about 175 fellowships. The annual deadline for the competition is September 17.
