Dr. Krishnapriya Kottakkal Sugathan has been awarded a Fiscal Year 2022 competition-based Faculty Research Seed Grant for her proposal, “Face Recognition Error Analysis and Best Practices.” The key objective of the project is to design a framework to characterize and mitigate high inter-class similarities and high intra-class variations that can lead to false match and false non-match errors, respectively, on face recognition systems. In addition, the project will likely result in an expansion of investigation on craniofacial geometries, motivated by results from the psychology of human face recognition.
Dr. Sugathan is an Assistant Professor in the department of Computer Science. She has a Ph.D. from the Florida Institute of Technology.
