The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently provided an update on the eligibility window for potential applicants to its Title III and V programs. Previous guidance from ED program officers indicated the eligibility window was slated to open from January 7 to March 4. Unfortunately, while ED itself remains open, the eligibility window has been impacted by the government shutdown. Once the lapse in funding is resolved, ED expects to open the eligibility application window for 30 days. The latest information about the eligibility window should be posted here and the application form for eligibility here. Currently, ED still expects to have a competition for one at least one of the programs, the Strengthening Institutions Program, in Spring 2019. We will continue to monitor for any developments.
