The GRC 2019 Fall Webinar Series begins tomorrow, September 24, with “Finding Success with NEA’s Research Grants in the Arts.” Through its Research Grants in the Arts program, The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) offers funding for grantees to conduct research into the value and impact of the arts either as individual components of the U.S. arts ecology or as they interact with each other and/or with other domains of American life. Program Analyst Melissa Menzer of NEA’s Office of Research & Analysis will share the latest information on NEA funding for arts research, providing tips for applicants and insight into the types of projects NEA supports. She will be joined by Jeffrey Taylor and David Stringham, researchers from Western Colorado University and James Madison University (Va.), respectively, who will each speak about their NEA-funded arts research projects and share their insights into the application process. The webinar will be held at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The series will continue September 26 with “Finding Success with OVW’s Rural Program.” Presenters from the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) will discuss OVW’s Rural Program and how colleges and universities can get involved in efforts to enhance the safety of rural victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The presenters will also provide tips on how to be competitive for the next competition. The webinar will be held at 2:00 p.m. ET.
