Through its charitable arm, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pva.org\/education-foundation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paralyzed Veterans of America Education and Training Foundation<\/a>, the organization supports educational projects that benefit, serve, and enhance the quality of life of individuals with spinal cord injury\/disease, their families, and caregivers.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation considers funding in six categories: consumer, caregiver, and community education; professional development and education; research utilization and dissemination; assistive technology; conferences and symposia; and consumer guides. Projects should be designed to improve the quality of life for individuals with SCI\/D, educate consumers about the consequences of and complications associated with SCI\/D, improve the knowledge and skills of SCI\/D healthcare professionals, and prevent the occurrence and complications of new SCI\/D.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation supports one-year projects with grants of up to $50,000; conferences and symposia are supported at a $15,000 maximum.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible applicants should be affiliated with an academic institution, healthcare provider or organization, or a consumer advocate or organization. Grantee institutions must be located in the United States or Canada.
