The\u00a0Spencer Foundation<\/a>\u00a0is now accepting research proposals to\u00a0improve education, with\u00a0awards\u00a0up to $50,000 for projects lasting from one to five years.\u00a0Applications are due\u00a0November 1, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From anthropology and philosophy to law and economics, the\u00a0Small Research Grants Program<\/a>\u00a0seeks to engage\u00a0researchers from a wide range of\u00a0disciplines and methodological perspectives. This “field-initiated” funding opportunity is not designed to gather findings based on a particular theory or method. Instead,\u00a0the project\u00a0serves as an open portal for innovative contributions that recognize learning that takes place across lifespans in a variety of settings, with attention given to\u00a0classroom experiences, as well as the playground, home, and community at\u00a0large.<\/p>\n

Proposal content must aim to study education. Proposals for activities other than research are not eligible (e.g., program evaluations, professional development, curriculum development, scholarships, capital projects). International applicants are welcome. However,\u00a0applicants must submit proposals written in English and budgets must reflect U.S. currency. Principal investigators (PI’s) must register on the Spencer Foundation\u00a0online portal<\/a>\u00a0before accessing the application, so get an early start.
