Ap<\/strong>plications for the 2018 Carole Fielding Grant are open<\/a>. \u00a0The deadline is December 15, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Assemble in the following order.<\/i><\/div>\n
    \n
  1. A one-page description of the project that includes:\u00a0 a statement of purpose, an indication of the resources available to complete the work, and a summary of the proposed production or research project.<\/li>\n
  2. A one page resume of the applicant, including information on past film\/video\/newmedia work, and\/or publications.<\/li>\n
  3. A statement by the sponsoring\u00a0<\/span>UFVA Member<\/b>, assessing the feasibility of the project and indicating his or her willingness to serve as faculty supervisor or consultant.\u00a0(This is not a \u201crecommendation.\u201d Please be sure that your sponsor is an\u00a0individual UFVA member\u2013 Institutional Memberships do not suffice).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. A one-page budget, clearly indicating what portion of the total project will be supported by this grant.<\/li>\n
  5. Add the appropriate document for your application from the list below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For Production proposals<\/u><\/b>:<\/b><\/p>\n

    Narrative\u2014a copy of the script (limit: 30 minutes).<\/p>\n

    Documentary\u2014a short treatment (limit: 45 minutes)<\/p>\n

    Experimental\/Animation\/NewMedia\u2014a treatment or script, and\/or a storyboard.<\/p>\n

    For Research proposals<\/u><\/b>:<\/b><\/p>\n

    A description of the methodology to be employed and a statement indicating the relationship of the proposed study to previous research in the field. (Maximum award $1000)<\/p>\n

    Research proposals must include a single pdf file containing your answers to these questions:<\/b><\/p>\n

    1. \u00a0A description of research proposal: (not more than 500 words)<\/p>\n

    2.\u00a0 How does your research fit within the discipline?\u00a0 (not more than 500 words)<\/p>\n

    That is, what other work has been done in this area?<\/p>\n

    How does your proposal expand on existing research?<\/p>\n

    3.\u00a0 Description of research activities: (not more than 500 words)<\/p>\n

    4.\u00a0 Proposed budget: (Be sure to include any required travel, in-kind contributions, etc).<\/p>\n

    5. \u00a0Anticipated outcome of the research:\u00a0 What do you plan to do with the findings of your research? (not more than 500 words)<\/p>\n

    For all Grant Applications assemble the all appropriate documents into one PDF for upload via the application form below.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
