The IRES program contributes to\u00a0development of a diverse, globally-engaged\u00a0\u00a0workforce with world-class skills. IRES\u00a0focuses on\u00a0active research participation by undergraduate or graduate students\u00a0in high quality international research, education and professional development experiences in NSF-funded research areas.<\/p>\n<p>The overarching, long-term\u00a0goal\u00a0of\u00a0the IRES program is to enhance\u00a0U.S. leadership in research and education\u00a0and to strengthen economic competitiveness through\u00a0training the next generation of research leaders.<\/p>\n<p>This solicitation features\u00a0three mechanisms; proposers are required to select one of the following tracks to submit their proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Track I focuses on the development of world-class research skills in international cohort experiences.\u00a0 Track II is dedicated to targeted, intensive learning and training\u00a0opportunities that leverage international knowledge at the frontiers of research.
