VANS (The Valdosta Organization of Nursing Students) has been extremely active within the community this semester. See below of the timeline provided by their president of their recent/upcoming events.
Recent Upcoming:
September 9th: We went to Second Harvest to help pack boxes to send to Houston after Hurricane Harvey went through. We helped pack over 1200 boxes of non perishable food items.
September 16th: We attended the South Georgia Pride Festival. We took blood pressures. (Pictures Below)
September 22nd: We hosted a HIV Testing with the health department in the Student Union. We had 85 people tested, handed out safe sex pamphlets and safe sex supplies.(Pictures Below)
Upcoming events:
October 28th: We will be attending Second Harvest Make a Difference Day
November 3rd: We will be attending the Alzheimer’s Walk
November 11th: We will be helping the PTO at LPE with booths at their fall festival
November 18th: We will be taking blood pressures at LAMP’S Block Party
