Dr Ahana Roy Choudhury has been awarded a Fiscal Year 2022 competition-based Faculty Research Seed Grant for her proposal, “Using Deep Learning to Perform Anomaly Detection in Echocardiograms.” The main purpose of her research is to automate the process of anomaly detection and diagnosis of cardiac diseases using echocardiogram videos. Since cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure and valvular heart diseases are typically diagnosed using echocardiogram videos, the research may also reduce the effect of manual errors and variations as well as reduce analysis times in the diagnosis of cardiac disorders.
Dr. Ahana Roy Choudhury is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. She has a Ph.D. from Florida State University.
