Congratulations to Dr. James Pace, Nursing School Grant Awardee! Issued by the Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce (GBHCW), the Nursing School Grant is awarded to institutions with wait lists who aim to increase nursing enrollment and demonstrate a greater pipeline of bedside/clinic practice ready nurses.
Dr. James Pace is the Dean of the Valdosta State University College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) and the Chief Nursing Administrator for the VSU School of Nursing (SON). According to Dr. Pace, the VSU SON is able to retain 97% of admitted students annually and the annual NCLEX pass rate is consistently above the national mean. The funds would allow the expansion of the Simulation Learning Center capacity with the acquisition of high-fidelity mannequins. As such, VSU SON would be able to better attract, recruit, admit, retain, and graduate baccalaureate nursing students thereby demonstrating a greater pipeline of bedside/clinic practice ready nurses.
