HTC and Qualcomm have a stand-alone, Google-free VR headset in the works

During ChinaJoy 2017, HTC said that it teamed up with Qualcomm to provide a stand-alone VR headset for the Chinese market. The details are scarce, but it won’t involve Google, meaning the unit won’t support the Daydream platform.
