Introducing the Unsplash Awards
We are pretty excited to announce the Unsplash Awards, a celebration made just for you, to recognize the open photography movement. Unsplash team decided to go forward and present 13 photography categories that will be judged by a guest curator to help select the best photos. The guest curators will be coming from all over including brands like: DJI, Kodakit, Lonely Planet, Squarespace, Airbnb and more. Submissions are now open for one month-long, let’s share the best of your creativity!
About Unsplash
Unsplash is a website dedicated to sharing copyright-free photography under the Unsplash license. Meaning that you can use them for commercial and noncommercial purposes. You do not need to ask permission from or provide credit to the photographer or Unsplash, although it is still very appreciated when possible.
So today, we couldn’t be more excited to kick off the Unsplash Awards, an online celebration to recognize the powerful impact Unsplash contributors have made through their generosity and artistry. We’ve created 10 photography categories where we will feature the work of Unsplash contributors. For each category, we’ve invited a guest curator to help select the most inspiring photos.

Unsplash Community
Today, over 50,000 Unsplash members have contributed over 260,000 high-resolution, freely usable photos. This has turned Unsplash from a humble blog into the largest open repository of high-resolution photography in the world.
Unsplash photos have gone on to inspire millions of creators from world-renowned writers like Deepak Chopra to multi-platinum recording artists to people of all ages looking to make their creative mark on the world. Unsplash would simply not be possible without the people who believe that sharing their work to support someone else is worthwhile. To give without expecting anything in return.
