Leisure Activities – the MacLehose Trail

Even though Hong Kong is known as a fast paced city around the world, you can always find tonnes of enthralling activities to spend your precious free time.

When it comes to leisure activities, hiking must be the first thing to be mentioned. Hong Kong has plenty of well managed hiking trails, for example, the MacLehose Trail. The MacLehose Trail is a 100 km-long Country Parks hiking trail. Generally crossing higher land, the ten-Section Trail offers memorable countryside experiences – and the adventure of sustained hiking. You can enjoy the spectacular view of Hong Kong from above when you are in the country side. Hiking conditions are mostly easy to moderate, with only a few sections needing strenuous effort. The MacLehose Trail is well signposted, and Country Park facilities are sited at its key points. The MacLehose Trail can be reached by public transport from the city within 1 hour.

Other than hiking, Hong Kong has a lot more activities that could provide an unforgettable experience to you. So, why not come and find them out yourself?

  1. Evan,
The MacLehose Trail looks absolutely beautiful in your picture. I also enjoy hiking on mountain trails. I have hiked in many different places across the United States. Southern Georgia has many great places to hike as well. While we have no mountains to hike in our area, we do have trails that can lead you through forests and swamp lands. Another great aspect of hiking in Georgia is observing wildlife. I would be interested in hearing about the wildlife you encounter on your hikes. Thank you for posting about hiking in Hong Kong. I found your post very interesting.
